Announcement: I'm Crowd-Funding an Animated Music Video

I am beyond thrilled - elated - simply over-the-moon to announce that this summer, I am creating an animated music video for my upcoming single, “Why”! The video is a whimsical and incredibly emotional piece of art, animated by Delaney Beaudoin. The video and song will be debuting in September, and to help with the costs of producing this gorgeous work, I’m launching a crowd-funding campaign!
The campaign, which is now live on Indiegogo, runs until July 30, and our goal is set at $3000. We’re offering some pretty fantastic perks, including your name in the credits, beautiful prints of artwork from the video, access to an early VIP launch event (to be held via Zoom), and more. Tiers range from $20-$100.
As a lover of animation, it has been a long-time dream of mine to have one of my songs be accompanied by animation. Studio Ghibli movies, Avatar, and The Legend of Korra all rank among my favourite films and shows of all time.
But it’s an incredibly laborious process - even a short film requires a team of animators working diligently for many months, sometimes even a year or more. As an independent musician with limited means, I figured I’d never be able to make this dream come true.

However, I did some searching, and I was lucky to get connected with Delaney Beaudoin, a Windsor-born animation student who is currently enrolled at Sheridan College. I reached out to tell her about my idea, and was overjoyed when she said she’d like to be a part of it. We immediately began applying for grants to help fund the project, and she’s actually using this project as a co-op credit towards her education.
We’re still waiting back on word from our grant applications, but no matter what the results, we wanted to launch a crowd-funding campaign to give our friends and fans to have the opportunity to be a part of this amazing endeavour. I know that the finished result is going to be something very special, and I hope that everyone who contributes gets to feel a sense of pride that they helped make it happen!

I honestly can’t believe how good it’s turning out. Every time I see a new sketch or a new frame, I want to weep tears of joy. I feel like this will be one of the most fantastic things I’ve ever been a part of in my entire music career. I have to pinch myself to believe that this is really happening. I feel like the luckiest girl in the world.
