REPLAY: Crissi Cochrane Custom Love Songs on Facebook Live, April 16 2020

Crissi Cochrane

Last night, I played my first “all-custom-love-songs” show. I played 13 of the more than 70 custom love songs that I’ve written since beginning this side hustle back in 2016.

I’ve always wanted to do a show like this, but I had imagined it to be a ticketed show at a local venue, some year on Valentine’s Day. When I was thinking of ways that I could make my live-streams special, and thinking about all the different types of songs in my repertoire, I realized it made a lot of sense to do this show online, and invite the people who requested the songs to tune in from wherever they are in the world.

It was so exciting - and nerve-wracking - to play so many songs that I don’t normally play, and to play them for the people they’re about. I’m looking forward to doing another one of these soon, since there are dozens of songs that didn’t make it into this show.

TRACK LISTING:

12:35 Baby
16:08 Only You & Me
19:35 Your Unconditional Love
24:15 For Always
29:44 On The Dance Floor
34:42 The Truest Thing
39:16 This Day On
44:33 Something Like Bliss
49:19 The Way You Move
53:46 Wouldn’t Trade
58:51 Still Feel The Way I do
1:03:13 Teach Me Again
1:07:10 Found In Love

My next live-stream will be coming up on Saturday, April 25th, and I’ll be playing the first third of my “restaurant ambiance” set-list. Before the Great Pause began, I used to play pretty regularly at Nola’s in Walkerville, and other local restaurants, where I’d be playing for 3-4 hours at a time, so I have one massive set list comprised of a mix of originals, covers, and custom love songs. I love this set list because it feels really comfortable and familiar to me. I’ve been stressing a bit about these live-streams and trying to be really well-rehearsed and trying to play songs I don’t often do, so I’m thinking that coming back to this set list is going to make for an especially relaxed night for me.

If you liked the songs in this broadcast, and would like to order a custom love song of your own, please check out the Custom Songs part of my website for more info! There, you can also watch my TEDx talk, listen to some fully produced requests, and check out the questionnaire that forms the basis for your song’s lyrics. Custom love songs are 15% off until my normal in-person work resumes! I feel like they’re a really appropriate gift this year, especially for those couples who are unfortunately delaying their wedding dates and might like to have something special that still allows them to celebrate their love this year - something that doesn’t fade, wilt, break, or require much disinfecting!

In other news… it’s snowing right now! This is SUPER unusual, but I actually don’t mind it today. The whole world is so out of whack, why not snow, why not? It’s really pretty… especially contrasting with the deep green of the grass on the front lawn.

We are keeping kind of insanely busy right now. I’ve got three different video-performance opportunities on my plate, where I need to film myself playing 2-3 songs and talking about what’s going on, but each has different requirements or different speaking points I need to mention, so that means… three completely different videos to record. I tend to require a few takes to get a performance to be as good as I’d like it to be, so I think these are going to be a bit time consuming… but I’m down.

I’m also finishing up a custom love song, with another one on my schedule for next week. I’m getting ready to submit my first remix for distribution over the weekend - SO excited, I can’t wait to share more about that - and there’s a little recording collaboration that’s been bouncing around between members of the Soul City Music Co-op that I’m going to be writing a top-line (lyrics & melody) for, so long as my brain is cool and happy and lets me do something like this. I’ve had a couple really challenging days in the last week mentally, and feeling a bit overwhelmed, so I hope that fog dissipates so I can get creative again.

Okay. Time to work on knocking some more things off my to-do list while the baby is napping. Stay happy and healthy, and thanks for reading!
