REPLAY: Crissi Cochrane on Facebook Live, October 10, 2020
Crissi Cochrane
Happy Thanksgiving weekend to everybody in Canada!
I know this is a complicated Thanksgiving, especially in Ontario where we’re told to not see our families, but keeping schools and bars open is okay - confusing much!? - but I hope you’ve found some ways to enjoy the holiday amid these strange times! I love-love-LOVE the fall vibes of Thanksgiving, I have so many happy memories around this time of year, and just… it gives me the feels.
I had a lovely time, as usual, on tonight’s live-stream! I’m really enjoying the conversational flow of these streams, getting Mike to read off the comments on-air, and doing Show & Tell and the Question of the Day. Ah! I just love it!
*The free, public replay of this livestream has been trimmed down to just two songs from the original hour-long broadcast. Tune in live to catch Crissi for free, OR become a subscriber on Patreon to get access to past shows for as little as $8/month.*

Once again, I am chagrined that my posture makes me look like I have the shortest midsection of all time, but I swear I just have TERRIBLE posture, which is a big part of the reason why I ALWAYS stand up to sing at live shows outside of our low-ceilinged basement.
I loved playing my Martin acoustic for the first time in 5+ years on this stream. Goodness, this guitar looks so good. And it smells like chocolate and coconuts. I am in love with it.
Tonight’s new-to-the-stream song was “Little Lou,” a custom love song written for a newborn baby. It’s one of only two songs I’ve written for babies, but it’s a good example of the type of children’s songs I might one day write (there is a part of me that very much wants to do this, but I think I might need to do it under a different stage name, so parents aren’t stumbling upon my sexier tunes by mistake).
I especially loved hearing the answers to our Question Of The Day, What is one thing you’ve failed at, that maybe you don’t feel bad about failing at? My answer was sourdough starter (that stuff NEVER rose on its own, smelled terrible, was a waste of flour), and also, trying to make my own homemade cleaning products. It was fun to make them, but they were always so piss poor at actually cleaning stuff that I’d end up having to use extra heavy-duty store-bought chemicals to counteract the build-up that homemade things left behind. Sigh. I loved the quote that came out of these chats - “it’s never too late to quit something!”
And I loved sharing Adeila’s sweet little Thanksgiving handprint turkey that we made together this week. It’s just so… wholesome and feels like a rite of passage for little ones. It makes my heart so happy <3
I’m looking forward to the next live-stream, which will be happening over on my Instagram page on October 24 - and it’s going to be a pyjama party!! Mark your calendars and make sure you’re following @crissicochrane!
