HUNGRY LOVE Music Video Out Now

Crissi Cochrane

The “Hungry Love” music video is officially out today!

Directed by Noah Capannelli of Infini Media, this is the very first official music video to go along with my 2020 album Heirloom. We filmed this in two locations - a model home in Tecumseh, and the beautiful All Saints Anglican Church in downtown Windsor. Endlessly falling flower petals, my original wedding dress and earrings, and a single red rose make this a romantic fantasy.

Enjoy the videos and music you love, upload original content, and share it all with friends, family, and the world on YouTube.

All Saints Anglican Church is a place that holds many special memories for me, and I’m honoured that we were able to film in such a beautiful, historic setting. I was first introduced to this space in 2016 when I was invited to sing at one of their regular Jazz Night concerts organized by Jeff Wilkinson, and it was thrilling to raise my voice in this grand, majestic space.

Those Jazz Nights are a big part of the reason why Mike and I are still in Windsor. Becoming friends with all the musicians onstage led to the creation of Mike’s backing band, eventually renamed The Family Soul, and the band behind my album Heirloom, and a big inspiration for creating the Soul City Music Co-op.

My sincerest thanks to go out to Reverend Robert Clifford for graciously allowing us to film in the church, and for kindly not chastising me when I declared that “it looks so different in the daytime”.

We filmed everything back in February - the shoot in the model home was the last thing I did before lockdown - and our original concept involved more filming, so the pandemic put our plans on hold. We regrouped last month and realized, in light of the ongoing pandemic, that what we had was release-ready.

I originally had reservations about the opening shot of me stumbling into my wedding dress - in my shape-wear with my back rolls on full display (thank god for those titles offering me a little extra privacy)! - but I figured some humanity was refreshing in this day and age, especially in the music industry. And goodness knows I’m not graceful all of the time.

I’m breathing a sigh of relief that my wedding dress is now safely stowed away for some future day, maybe when my own daughter wants to give it a try. As far as wedding dresses go, it wasn’t that expensive, but my wedding dress was still the most expensive piece of clothing I’ve ever owned, and I’m grateful that we didn’t rip or stain it, between me stumbling into the dress for the opening shot and accidentally spilling (non-alcoholic) champagne all down the front of it.

And the best part is that Mike meets me at the church at the end of the video! I love how this video blends fantasy with reality when my actual husband appears at last. When we first saw the footage back in February, our daughter would squeal “Awww!” when we kiss at the end, and I would get misty eyed - just like watching a proper wedding video. (Now, she cries when she watches the video because she is devastated when I toss aside my rose halfway through, and then she melts down when we kiss because we are only allowed to kiss her and not each other 😂)

If you haven’t already found it, you can hear “Hungry Love” and all the songs on Heirloom on Spotify, Apple, and all major streaming platforms, or you can buy it digitally in my shop.
