Andrew Olsvik from Fredericton, New Brunswick, wrote a lovely review about the show at Crumb's last week. The following text is taken from his blog post from March 17th, 2009 (the day after the show). His blog can be seen here.
Crissi Cochrane, known on the stage as Save September, delighted a small crowd at Crumbs Cafe here in Fredericton yesterday evening, showcasing her natural talent for singing and songwriting with a collection of intimate songs and a couple of thematically appropriate covers. While lacking the intricate guitar work of clear influence Mike Kinsella, the emotion she put into her songwriting and performance reflects the one time American Football singer/guitarist and Owen mastermind greatly. Crissi played flawlessly over the sometimes overwhelming noise of coffee machines and phone conversations and executed her songs about unrequited love and changing environments with an unexpected professionalism.
Evidently a fan of Ben Gibbard, Crissi threw in a couple beautiful covers. First, a cover of the Iron & Wine version of the Postal Service's "Such Great Heights" followed soon after by Death Cab for Cutie tearjerker "I Will Follow You Into the Dark". Readers, do yourself a favor and check out Save September on one of her upcoming Nova Scotian dates, or pray that she graces Fredericton once again because her MySpace recordings fail to do justice to her gorgeous singing voice.

Hey folks!
I played two shows this weekend - one at the Halifax Pavilion with Hello Beautiful, and one afterwards over at the Clay Cafe (6413 Quinpool Road). Tara Tattrie took a lovely photo of me at the Pavilion, which has been posted in the PHOTOS section! Had a bit of a disaster with my pick-up. For those who don't know, the pick-up is a little foam block on a cord - you put the block into the guitar sound hole and then you can plug the guitar into an amplifier, or directly into the sound system. Mine actually belongs to my father, who has let me borrow it for the last two years. Unfortunately, the pick-up decided to retire during soundcheck. Pavilion employees Mark Desloges and Mark Peyton were generous enough to put together some tme and donations to buy me a real pick-up - the kind that has a volume control and is screwed into the soundhole (none of this foam block crap).
If you are reading this, Peyton and Desloges, you have officially gained my unending gratefulness, trust, and loyalty. I will repay you with rocketships someday. Thank you so much.

Hey folks!
I played the Grawood at Dalhousie University here in Halifax last night for an Open Mic. It was a pretty good time! Met a lot of great performers and friendly people. I'll hopefully be back at the Grawood to perform a full set within the next month or two!
Studio time has been hard to get lately (it's a busy place!), but John Fulmer and I have been hard at work (when we can), making some demos of So Far Apart, Coming Home, and Mexico.
My band (I play mandolin, flute, and backup-vocals), the Gamma Gamma Rays, performed at the King's Ward Room this Monday alongside indie duo, the Superfantastics. Awesome!
I'll be performing at the HALIFAX PAVILION this Saturday - the show starts at 6:30 sharp and is only three dollars! Touring band Hello Beautiful will be performing as well.
I've been making some minor tweaks to the website here and there - feel free to poke around and see what's new. (If I do anything major, I'll let you know here.) If you come across any weird bugs, please let me know!
